Point of Existence - News #58
Father Gisol · 04.02.2006 19.04 Uhr

The POE Development team would like to thank our fans for their continued support
and for making POE the #4 “Mod of the Year” at the Moddb.com website.
We couldn’t ask for a better community of fans and we appreciate everyone that voted for us.
Hopefully in 2006 the Battlefield mods will have a larger presence to compete against the other game engines.
Thanks to INtense and Bluewolf72 for their time and effort with getting the award show announced over EGLN’s internet radio.
Today we would like to welcome aboard “CMikey” onto the team.
CMikey is a professional coder from Austria and will be a great asset to the coding team.
He’ll begin working on reported bugs that our testers have posted and other assignments.
Our first render is the German Roland.
The Roland is a short range air defense missile system to protect the ground troops and facilities from hostile air.
The Roland is installed on the Marder tracked vehicles for Germany.
This vehicle might be seen working together with the Gepard
which is a major threat for those that enjoy flying helicopters & fighter jets.
The model and skin were developed by “Nello”.
The next render is a weapon that was suggested by one of our fans.
VSS ´Vintorez´ silenced sniper rifle will see action with the Ukraine team.
This weapon is effective to 300 – 400 meters so watch out for this deadly rifle.
“KCT” is the model developer and “Spitfire” designed the skin.
For our weekly in-game screenshots we have a few things to show.
We’ll begin by showing the Ukrainian T-84.
This vehicle will definitely be one of the favorites on the battlefield with it’s 125mm main gun.
D_Fast has a treat to show everyone this week.
He has been working on coding the weapons on the T-84 this week.
A lot of progress has been made and the following video clip is considered a “work in progress” and is not considered complete.
When watching the video you will notice that suggestions from our fans have been considered during the coding development.

Before we show the next group of screenshots we want to make our fans understand that we might not create new player models for our first build. A lot of work goes into making player models and we want to make sure we are providing quality work.
“Nello” has started developing the player models but there is a lot of work that would need to be done before we can release them into our build. More than likely we will just re-skin the current BF:2 models and the new player models will be in our later builds.
From a project perspective we have more important items to develop before we complete the player models. So with that said let’s show you the three different rounds that the German Anti-Tank soldier will be able to use.
The next group of screenshots will be for the “Support Soldier” players.
The Germans definitely know how to make their weapons sexy!
So will the German support soldier carry the 5.56mm MG-36 or the 7.62mm MG-3 -
or will there be an option in game to allow both machine guns for this class???
Guess you will have to wait and see!
Community of the week is “Frag4fun.com”
The group over at Frag4fun.com has done a great job keeping the German gaming
community informed about our mod since the creation of our team.
We want to thank “Tris” for all of his hard work and support that he has given us.
For those that don’t know, Tris used to be our webmaster previously.
If your looking for any material on our first mod then head over to their site as we’re sure Tris has it on his site.
The last thing to discuss in this weeks news post is our open positions on the developer team.
Experienced 3dMax Modelers, skinners, animators, and sound engineers are needed.
The Test team is also looking for experienced and mature testers for the North American and Euro squads.
Ziggy has updated our application form on the main web page to make it easier for applicants to submit their information.
